How the family referral process works
Submit Your Care Request
Tell MCMS what type of professional or service you need, your general location, preferred schedule, start date, and other relevant care requirements.
MCMS Reviews Your Request
MCMS reviews the information submitted and determines the appropriate referral path.
We Identify Potential Matches
MCMS searches its registry and network for eligible professionals or participating healthcare organizations whose qualifications, service area, and availability may align with the request.
Referral & Payment Process
When applicable, required referral fees or selected services are completed before the introduction is released. MCMS does not present payment prematurely when the workflow does not require it at that stage.
Introduction
Once the required steps are completed, MCMS facilitates the introduction between the client and the selected provider or organization.
You Connect Directly
After an introduction, the client and provider or organization communicate directly about availability, services, scheduling, rates, terms, and whether they wish to work together.
Referral Follow-Up
MCMS may follow up regarding the referral and introduction.

- When a referral fee or selected service applies, MCMS explains the required step before an introduction is released. Submitting a request alone does not require a payment or guarantee an introduction.
- After an introduction, the client and provider or organization communicate directly about availability, services, scheduling, rates, terms, and whether they wish to work together.
- Maryland CNA Match Services is a referral and introduction service. It is not an employer, staffing agency, home health agency, healthcare provider, supervisor, or party to the direct service arrangement.
